JUNIOR COMPANY
Michigan Ballet Theatre is incorporated as a nonprofit organization. It is a student company of exceptionally talented dancers representing the advanced students of the Rochester School of Dance as well as dancers drawn from an open audition.
The Company’s purpose is to develop the technical and artistic skills required of dancers seeking a professional career and to present quality full length productions of classical ballets including: Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Coppélia and contemporary divertissements.
In 2023 Michigan Ballet Theatre will present the Nutcracker at the Lake Orion Performing Arts Center. Show Times: Sat. Dec. 16 – 7pm, Sun. Dec. 17 – 1pm & 6pm. Advanced discounted tickets available at https://buy.tututix.com/michiganballettheate Tickets sold at the door are cash only $30 each

Auditions for Michigan Ballet Theatre’s 2023 – 2024 Season
Auditions will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Rochester School of Dance, 1800 S. Livernois, Rochester, MI 48307
- 10:30 am – 12:30 pm MBT / MBT2 members (see requirements below)
Requirements:
- MBT members must be at the advanced level with strong pointe technique.
- MBT2 members must be at the intermediate/advanced level in technique and pointe.
Dancers: Please pick up an audition packet in the Rochester School of Dance office. If you are under 21 years of age you must have a signed release from your parents before auditioning.
Registration begins 30 minutes prior to audition
$25 Cash Audition Fee is required to audition
Junior Company Auditions will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023
- 6:00pm – 6:30pm: 7 – 9 yr old (Adv/Beg – Ballet 2)
- 6:30pm – 7:30pm: 10 – 13 yr old (Ballet 3 and above)
- 7:30pm – 8:30pm: 14+ (Ballet 4 and above)
2nd Auditions will be held on Thurs., Sept. 7 for the Jr Co. and Sept. 14, 2023 for MBT and MBT2 both at 6:30 pm. Audition fee required.
